New clients can start by visiting our Checkout Portal to view pricing and turnaround times for over 180 countries. Select the services you need and complete the quick checkout. After ordering, you'll receive an account setup form and a brief due diligence review (about 2 hours). Then, we'll send your dashboard login to manage and track your international background checks.

Applicants receive an email from backgroundcheck@getgbs.com with instructions and may be asked to submit a government-issued ID. Requirements vary by country and service — for example, India requires a father’s full name, while many Latin American countries require a mother’s maiden name. At minimum, applicants must provide their legal name, date of birth, national ID number, and address. Most services accept e-signatures, though some countries still require a physical signature, which we handle on your behalf.

Many countries return results in 1–3 business days for certain criminal checks (often Canada, UK, Brazil, USA)

Turnaround time can vary based on factors like:

• Name commonality / identity matching (common names can require extra verification)

• Search type (criminal search vs. civil records vs. employment/education verifications)

• Local court/agency access and processing timelines

• Document requirements (signed consent forms, IDs, local release forms, etc.)
  

The most accurate turnaround time is always shown during checkout for each country and service selected, so you can confirm estimated processing times before placing the order.

We improve international accuracy by confirming identifiers (where legally allowed), using trusted local sources, and performing quality reviews to reduce false matches—especially with common names. For FCRA compliance, we require a permissible purpose, obtain required disclosures/authorizations, and provide tools to support reinvestigations and the pre-adverse/adverse action steps when applicable.

Yes—when GDPR applies, we support GDPR-aligned international screening. For transfers of EU/UK/Swiss personal data to the U.S., Global Background Screening (GBS) is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), the UK Extension, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF, which are designed to support compliant cross-border data transfers to participating U.S. organizations.

The cost of an international background check can be quickly viewed by selecting the desired search from the dropdown menu on our international background checkout portal. This allows you to see transparent pricing for all our products easily.

If all applicants require the same services, simply enter each applicant’s name and email on a new line in the applicant field at checkout. Adjust the quantity and click 'Add to Cart.' For different services, place separate orders for each service type in the cart.
